Position Title: Legal and Policy Counsel
Reporting To: Senior Vice President, General Counsel
Location: Washington, D.C.
Position Summary:
The Legal and Policy Counsel will advise ESA and its members on legal, regulatory and policy matters that impact the video game industry and related media and technology industries. Reporting to the Senior Vice President & General Counsel, this person will work closely with ESA’s Legal, Government Affairs and Communications & Public Affairs teams to identify legal, regulatory and policy issues relevant to the video game industry, develop strategies to address these issues and support the association in proceedings before state and federal legislatures, government agencies and courts.
Duties of this role include but are not limited to Identifying, monitoring and analyzing proposed federal and state regulations and legislation and legal developments related to technology issues impacting the U.S. video game industry. The Legal and Policy Counsel will also draft summaries, legal analyses, policy papers, and other appropriate materials for ESA staff and its members on these issues.
Qualified candidates will have a Juris Doctor degree, minimum of 5 years’ experience working on technology and/or industry-related issues, experience working with or in trade associations, government agencies and/or state or federal legislatures.
