Intern, Communications & Public Affairs

Position Summary:
The Entertainment Software Association Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA) team is looking for a summer intern. The intern will support the C&PA team on a variety of projects including research, content development, media monitoring, data entry, events support and coordination and social media.  

The intern will work under the close supervision of ESA C&PA staff and will receive valuable on-the-job training and experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use media tools to monitor news and social media coverage for key industry issues and provide reports to the C&PA team.
  • Conduct online research in support of ESA research products and advocacy assets.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Support in-person events in Washington, DC.
  • Assist in social media and online community management and publishing.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must possess strong organizational, time management, and writing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Comfortable using social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).

Work Hours: 

  • We will be looking for interns on a rolling basis through 2024 so candidates should indicate which months they are available. Interns must be able to commit to at least three full consecutive months (e.g. June-August).
  • Interns will be able to build their daily and hourly schedule based on their education and other life commitments.
  • Interns should be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.

Internship Compensation: 
This is a paid position.

 Work Location: 

  • Due to the organization’s hybrid schedule, interns with Monday and Friday schedules would work remotely.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday hours would be completed at the ESA offices.
  • Interns must be able to work at least half of their total weekly hours from ESA offices Tuesday through Thursday.
