Career
Stan McCoy joined ESA as Senior Vice President and General Counsel in 2025. A seasoned legal and policy expert, Stan has more than 25 years of experience with issues related to intellectual property, innovation, and international trade.
Prior to joining ESA, Stan spent a decade as a senior executive at the Motion Picture Association (MPA), where he served as President and Managing Director for the EMEA region. In that role, he led the MPA’s operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and held board-level positions with the International Federation of Film Producers’ Organizations and the International Video Federation.
Earlier in his career, Stan served in the Executive Office of the President at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), including six years as Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Intellectual Property and Innovation. He played a key role in shaping U.S. trade policy and leading negotiations on intellectual property across multiple administrations.
