Position Summary:

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is the trade association that serves as the voice and advocate for the U.S. video game industry and works to ensure the bright future of video games. The video game industry is one of America’s fastest-growing industries. With that growth comes an increasingly complex regulatory environment, which the ESA helps its members navigate. The ESA uses its government relations, legal, and communications expertise to promote the industry and its positive impact on society. Simply put, we work to expand the frontiers of what is possible in entertainment.

The Senior Vice President, Government Affairs at ESA will be responsible for leading all government affairs efforts for the association, managing the government affairs team, and coordinating advocacy efforts at both the federal and state levels to advance the industry’s interests. The successful candidate should have at least 15 years of experience in government relations, a keen understanding of the issues affecting the video game industry, and a deep network of bipartisan relationships. The candidate should be an outstanding leader, be results-oriented, and possess strong communication skills. Ultimately, this role has responsibility for raising the visibility and awareness of the video game industry with policymakers and ensuring that ESA has a strong voice in legislative, regulatory, and policy discussions on matters that are vital to the industry.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required, with a Master’s Degree, a J.D., or other advanced degrees being a plus. ESA values individuals with ethical conduct, unquestionable integrity, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.
