Position Title: Manager, Intellectual Property Enforcement Technology & Intelligence

Reporting To: Chief Counsel, IP Protection & Security

Location: Washington, D.C.

Position Summary:

The Manager, Intellectual Property Enforcement Technology & Intelligence will support the organization’s domestic and international intellectual property protection and enforcement efforts through technology, data analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, and investigative intelligence.

This position will work at the intersection of copyright enforcement, online investigations, data analysis, emerging technologies, and the video game industry. Key responsibilities include analyzing online piracy and other forms of intellectual property infringement, identifying emerging technologies, platforms, and threats, conducting and supporting online investigations, and developing actionable intelligence to support enforcement matters. The Manager will also develop and maintain internal tools, databases, and automated workflows, leverage artificial intelligence, scripting, APIs, to measure program effectiveness, and provide clear, actionable reporting to ESA leadership and member companies.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, and a minimum of six years of relevant experience in technology, data analytics, investigations, intellectual property enforcement, cybersecurity, fraud, online platform operations, or a related field.

Ideal candidates will have strong analytical, investigative, research, and problem-solving skills, experience working with databases, reporting platforms, automation, or workflow solutions, and the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript, artificial intelligence platforms, APIs, automation tools, or online investigations is preferred. Familiarity with copyright enforcement, digital piracy, cybersecurity, or the video game industry is a plus. The budgeted salary range for this position is $70,000–$90,000 with eligibility for a bonus.

This position is based in Washington, DC. ESA employees are in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and may work remotely Monday and Friday, unless work-related matters require a physical presence.
