Position Title: Intern, Intellectual Property and Security
Reporting To: Chief Counsel, Intellectual Property and Security
Location: Washington, D.C.
Position Summary:
The Intellectual Property and Security (IPPS) Intern will provide support to ESA’s efforts to protect its members’ games and devices from infringement. Projects will revolve around research and online enforcement. The intern will work closely with an advisor to aid in law enforcement case support, online monitoring, and enforcement.
Duties of the IPPS Intern include monitoring and collecting data as it relates to video game infringement, researching emerging sources, platforms, and methods used to identify and monitor potential online infringement, reviewing forensic evidence and participating in auditing vendor performance, researching cutting edge intellectual property and cybersecurity issues, and preparing research summaries regarding individuals, entities, or online sources associated with potential infringement or other relevant activities.
Qualified candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience with internet and legal research, experience with excel, and can multitask. Ideal candidates will have a strong passion for the gaming industry and will have a general understanding of the U.S. legal system.
