Position Summary
The Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA) team is looking for a summer intern to support the team on a variety of projects including research, media monitoring, data entry, events support and coordination, media outreach, and social media. The intern will work under the close supervision of ESA C&PA staff and will receive valuable on-the-job training and experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Use media tools to monitor news and social media coverage for key industry issues and provide reports to the C&PA team.
- Develop media lists and reach out to press to secure coverage of the video game industry and ESA’s
- Conduct online research in support of ESA research products and advocacy assets.
- Assist with special projects.
- Support in-person events in Washington, DC.
- Assist in social media and online community management and publishing.
Experience & Qualification:
- Must possess strong organizational, time management, and writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Comfortable with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Comfortable using social media channels (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
Work Hours:
- Summer internships are an – week program commencing early June – July.
- Interns will be able to build their daily and hourly schedule based on their education and other life commitments.
- Interns should be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
- Hours will be completed in office, Tuesday-Thursday.
Internship Compensation:
- This is a paid position.
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday hours would be completed at the ESA offices.
- Interns must be able to work at least half of their total weekly hours from ESA offices Tuesday through Thursday.
