Empowering Parents and Caregivers to Better Manage Video Game Play
MEXICO CITY – April 27, 2022 – The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) today announced new resources for parents, educators and caregivers to better understand and use tools that help manage video game play for Mexico’s Children’s Day.
These tools include a video titled Tools to Manage the Use of Video Games at Home, which provides information about the Mexican video game rating system, parental controls and other resources available to parents and educators.
The video game industry understands the challenges parents and caregivers face raising children in this digital age. For more than 25 years, the video game industry has worked to ensure that consumers—especially parents and caregivers—have the most comprehensive information and tools they need to decide which gameplay experiences are appropriate for their children, even when parents are not in the room.
“Safety is not a competitive issue for the video game industry—it is a shared priority that calls for collective action,” Entertainment Software Association Senior Vice President and General Counsel Gina Vetere said.
Additional resources in Spanish include:
- Guidelines of the Mexican Video Game Rating System
- Parental Guide on how to supervise and accompany children and adolescents for safe navigation in the digital age
