Come join one of the most exciting, dynamic organizations in the non-profit and technology worlds as a Counsel of Tech Policy! The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) represents the leading U.S. publishers of video games across the nation and on the global stage and owns and operates E3, the premier trade show for video games. We are seeking a Counsel of Tech Policy to help advance the video game industry’s public policy objectives on select technology and esports issues at the federal and state level. This individual will help support ESA’s Government Affairs team and the Legal Department on various tech policy issues including regulation of consumer contracts, in-game monetization issues, privacy, and data security.

The Counsel will help guide the industry’s policy advocacy in esports, one of the most exciting emerging areas today. This role will also advance the industry’s esports priorities in coordination with the Government Affairs team and global trade association partners to promote both awareness of and a favorable regulatory climate for esports to thrive in the United States and elsewhere. The Counsel will have the opportunity to work with top game publishers across the country, state and federal lawmakers, sister trade groups, and other stakeholders interested in advancing esports.

Qualified candidates will have a J.D., three years of experience working on technology policy issues, and an active bar membership. We are seeking individuals with experience in policy making, drafting and analyzing legislation, and working with legislators and coalitions on national issues.
